Certified translation in Denmark – sworn & state-authorised translators
Certified translations of official documents, accepted by authorities, courts, universities and embassies.
When a document has to be used officially in another country, an ordinary translation is rarely enough. Authorities ask for a translation that is signed and stamped by a translator who vouches that it matches the original exactly.
In Denmark these translations are carried out by state-authorised translators (statsautoriseret translatør), appointed through the Danish Business Authority. For documents going abroad, we work with sworn translators in the destination country whenever its authorities require it.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a certified and a standard translation?
A certified translation is signed and stamped by a state-authorised or sworn translator who confirms that it matches the original. Authorities, courts and universities usually require it.
Do I need to send the original?
Usually not – a scan is enough. If the authority wants the translation bound to the original or to a certified copy, we will guide you through it.
How long does a certified translation take?
Short documents such as certificates can often be delivered within 2–4 working days. Urgent jobs are possible, and the turnaround is always stated in your quote.
Will the translation be accepted abroad?
That depends on the receiving country. Some require a local sworn translator or an apostille on the translation. We check the requirements before we start.
